// WHAT IS RIO LAWTECH NATION?

Rio LawTech Nation is an international hub for legal innovation, born from a strategic alliance led by AB2L – the Brazilian Association of Lawtechs and Legaltechs, in collaboration with public institutions, representative bodies, universities, law firms, corporate legal departments, and research centers.

Its mission is to position <span class="text-italic text-black"Rio de Janeiro as the Global Capital of Legal Innovation by 2030, bringing together regulation, education, technology, and social impact to transform Brazil’s legal ecosystem.

Establish Rio de Janeiro as a global benchmark in legal innovation, supported by modern regulatory environments, highly qualified talent, and high-impact technological solutions.

Integrate attorneys, law firms, legal departments, startups, universities, investors, researchers, entrepreneurs, and public institutions into a collaborative ecosystem.

Position Brazil as a global leader in legal innovation, legaltech, and the transformation of Law, and establish Rio de Janeiro as the world capital of lawtechs.

Create a physical and digital hub with international reach, headquartered in Rio.

INNOVATIVE REGULATORY ENVIRONMENT

Promoting flexible and secure legal frameworks, regulatory sandboxes, and governance models that encourage experimentation and responsible innovation.

THE FUTURE OF LEGAL EDUCATION

Promoting mentorship programs, executive training, and continuous education for lawyers and legal leaders, with an emphasis on technology, management, ESG, innovation, artificial intelligence, regulation, blockchain, brain–computer interface (BCI), and public security.

COLLABORATIVE ECOSYSTEM

Creating a physical hub in Rio that brings together law firms, legal departments, lawtechs, universities, public prosecutors’ offices, representative entities, public defenders, investors, and policymakers.

TECHNOLOGY AND DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION

Driving the development of technological solutions for the legal field, including legal automation, legal design, data, smart contracts, AI systems, and digital experiences in the justice system and in Law.
